Construction & Infrastructure

Suitable for water supply and drainage pipes, gas pipes, cable conduits, door and window profiles, architectural decorative profiles, cable trunking, and other construction products. Plastic products used in construction and infrastructure often require long-term continuous production, with particular attention to color consistency, surface quality, processing stability, and outdoor performance. Polytech provides tailored color and functional masterbatch solutions based on the product material, target color, and application environment, helping reduce issues such as color lines, color spots, batch-to-batch color variation, and uneven surface color.

01Dispersion & Extrusion

Pipes, profiles and cable products need consistent color for appearance or identification. Uneven dispersion can leave specks or streaks, especially in narrow pipe marking stripes. Select a masterbatch suited to the actual extrusion material and inspect finished profiles or stripes rather than judging pellet color alone.

02Weathering & Stability

Products stored or used outdoors may fade or become brittle after exposure. The pigment and stabilizer system should suit the installation environment and expected exposure period. For black PE products, carbon black content and dispersion both need checking; a dark appearance alone does not establish weathering performance.

03Performance & Validation

Construction products also have application-specific performance requirements. A color change must be assessed alongside the base formulation, whether the product needs pressure resistance, impact strength or electrical performance. Confirm the intended masterbatch and dosage in the relevant finished-product tests before replacing an approved formulation.

Representative Case Study

Achieve consistent, speck-free color in co-extruded PE pipe stripes with our compatible blue masterbatch, ensuring uniform dispersion and appearance without compromising pipe performance.
  • Challenge

A co-extruded blue identification stripe on a PE pipe showed specks and uneven color, making the stripe inconsistent along the pipe.
  • Solution

Check dosing and the stripe extruder, then trial a blue masterbatch compatible with the stripe resin. Keep stripe dimensions and extrusion conditions consistent when comparing dispersion and appearance.
  • Expected Outcome

Produce a continuous, evenly colored stripe within the agreed defect limits, with the finished pipe still meeting its applicable performance requirements.
